About Ortahisar
Ortahisar is Trabzon's central district, named after the "middle fortress" section of Trabzon Castle, whose foundations date to the Roman era and were later expanded by the Byzantines and Ottomans. The historic Kemeralti Bazaar, Hagia Sophia, and Ataturk Kosku all sit within this district.
