Ataturk Kosku (Ataturk Museum Mansion)
Built in 1890 by Greek architect Kostaki Theophylaktos as a summer residence, the mansion impressed Mustafa Kemal Ataturk on his 1924 visit; the people of Trabzon gifted it to him in 1934. It now operates as a museum displaying his personal belongings.

Sumela Monastery
Founded in 386 AD during the reign of Roman Emperor Theodosius I, Sumela Monastery is carved into a cliff face 1,200m up on Karadag mountain. It reached its present form in the 13th century under the Empire of Trebizond and underwent major restoration from 2015-2019.

Built between 1250 and 1260 under Emperor Manuel I of Trebizond, Hagia Sophia is one of the finest examples of Byzantine architecture. Converted to a mosque in 1461, opened as a museum in 1964, and rededicated as a mosque in 2013 — its historic frescoes remain preserved and visible.
