Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet occupies a neoclassical building constructed as a prison in 1918-1919, designed by architect Kemaleddin Bey. Having held numerous famous writers and political prisoners including Nazım Hikmet, the building was converted into a hotel in 1996 and fully renovated by Goddard Littlefair in 2022, preserving the original historic stonework. It has 65 rooms and suites (48 deluxe rooms + 17 signature suites).
At Tevkifhane Sokak No: 1, the hotel is 2 minutes from Hagia Sophia, 3 from the Blue Mosque, 4 from the Basilica Cistern, and 5-10 from Topkapı Palace. With no direct sea access, VIP guests are offered a private land transfer to sister property Four Seasons Bosphorus's pier facilities.
